Weekend Course

The 2019 SLA weekend course - "Building Identity, Building Readers" - a joint venture with CILIP YLG - was held on 21 to 23 June 2019 at the Aston Conference Centre, Aston University, Birmingham, with a broad theme of wellbeing and identity.

A course review will be published in The School Librarian and further details and presentations by guest speakers will be available on the SLA website.

The SLA's next weekend course will be held on 19–21 June 2020 at Ashford International Hotel in Ashford, Kent.

Held in June at a different location each year, the course is hugely popular and has become an essential element of continuing professional development for many school librarians -  a weekend of inspiration, information gathering and networking and "a wonderful melting pot of ideas".

The three-day course is fully residential, with day delegate options also available. SLA Members qualify for a large discount on the course fee.
