Upcoming Events

Book Sale and Networking Event – Monday 29th April, 4.00-6.00pm at Gillott’s School in Henley
Come and join us as we look for bargains and chat with other school librarians!

The book sale comprises ex-Children's Book Award books for between 50p and £2.00 per book. Cash or card is accepted.

The money goes to the local Federation of Children’s Book Group branch, which is a charity.

We usually offer the Book Sale as part of our CPD day, but because we didn’t run one this year, Sarah Seddon (Committee) is slightly overrun with beautiful nearly-new books which she would like to shift!

Recent Training

Autumn Term 2023 - A November meeting discussed the DfE's recent Reading Framework

8th June 2022 - Berkshire Branch AGM

Saturday 26th March - A day of networking with local librarians, speakers (including Alison Tarrant, SLA Chief Executive) and participating in workshops about school library issues. Successful book sale from the FCBG. Attendance was free of charge.

2nd February 2022 - Pupil Librarian Focus

A successful meeting with a focus around Pupil Librarians. Alison Tarrant spoke on the SLA Pupil Librarian Toolkit and Pupil Library Assistant Award. Members shared their top tips. It was a really great meeting and I came away with lots of ideas to implement in my Library. Especially taking a photo of the returns trolley before my Pupil Librarians shelve the books so I can check they are in the right place - a big thanks to Clare Swanson for that tip!
