Whilst we’re firmly of the opinion that out of term time is a time to switch off and relax, we also know that some of you like to use this time to learn and develop your skills.

So, following on from our successful summer school in 2023, we’re inviting members to indie book shop Books on The Rise, in Richmond.

So if you’re likely to miss your SLA fix over Easter, fear not! Come along for a morning focused on helping school library staff to plan, run and make the most of reading groups. 

The morning includes a session of input from SLA Board Member and Reading Group expert Helen Cleaves, a workshop for you to share with other members and plan together, and the opportunity to discuss book titles on the shelves of 'Books On The Rise'. 

Suitable for all key stages, join us for a 10am start for the training and workshop (lasting 2 hours) but feel free to arrive from 9am or stay as long as you wish afterwards to browse the shop.

Refreshments not included - feel free to bring your own.
