Rooted in Reading

Rooted in Reading A set of 12 reading passports, with the general project name Rooted in Reading – have been produced by Steve Willshaw.  These have been designed to encourage reading at all ages, from the sharing of books by parents and their pre-school children through to adults who are or are not in book groups.  The bulk of the passports are aimed at encouraging school children to read more for enjoyment and to gently nudge them into reading a wider variety of texts and responding to them in increasingly sophisticated ways.

Until now these have only been available within Lincolnshire - over 180,00 have been sent used.  They have been very enthusiastically received and are now available via a distribution deal with NATE to sell them on their behalf to schools all over the country.  Check out the website for further details and resources – they look very appealing.
