Initially a one year appointment
The school is looking to appoint a part-time Librarian working five days per week (three days from 8.30am to 1.30pm and two days 1pm to 6pm – pattern of days subject to negotiation with the other librarian) in St Philip’s Library at the heart of the school, from September 2017. The post is initially for one year, with the possibility of it being extended. Ideally, the successful candidate might have experience of school teaching, possibly being a retired teacher or someone who has taken a break from teaching. Duties include managing book stock through Eclipse, a library book management system, and assisting pupils in the selection of books. St Philip’s Library is used by sixth form pupils throughout the day for private study which means supervision of sixth form pupils and working closely with the staff responsible for them are an important part of the Librarian's duties. The post holder would work in conjunction with a second part-time Librarian who will dovetail the hours of this post.
